Referral Program Terms

Last updated: June 3, 2026

These Referral Program Terms supplement the PropContact Terms of Service and Refund Policy. By sharing your referral code or applying a code at signup, you agree to these terms.

1. Eligibility

Any PropContact account in good standing is eligible to share its referral code and earn referral dollars. Eligibility is suspended automatically while an account is past due, locked for abuse review, or has an open chargeback dispute. Government employees, journalists, and PropContact staff are not eligible to earn or to apply their own dollars to staff-managed accounts.

Referees must be new PropContact users at the time they sign up. A code applied by an existing account is invalid and is not retroactively credited.

2. How earnings are calculated

When a referee makes a payment to PropContact for a subscription, renewal, add-on, one-time purchase, or upgrade, we credit the referrer with referral dollars equal to 1/6 of the amount the referee actually paid in U.S. cents.

Math is done in integer cents using a ceiling formula: dollars_earned_cents = (paid_cents + 5) / 6 with integer division. This means a referee paying $169.00 produces $28.17 of earnings, not a rounded floating-point value.

If a payment is later refunded or charged back, the corresponding earnings are reversed from the referrer's balance. If the referrer's balance is insufficient at the time of reversal, the negative amount may be deducted from future earnings or recovered at admin discretion.

3. The 6-month window

The referrer earns on every qualifying payment the referee makes during the 6-month window beginning on the date the referee signed up. The window is fixed per referee and is recorded as earnings_cutoff_at on the referral row.

After the cutoff, no further earnings accrue from that referee, even if they remain a paying customer. Each new referee a referrer brings in has their own independent 6-month window.

4. Bonus to the referee

A referee who signs up with a valid code receives a 20% credit bonus on their first paid purchase. The bonus is calculated as integer-floor of (credits_amount * 20) / 100 and is granted via grant_unified_credits with the source recorded as promoand the description “Referral signup bonus (20%)”.

The bonus is granted once, on the first paid purchase after signup. Free credits granted at signup do not trigger the bonus. PropContact funds the bonus; it does not come out of the referrer's dollar balance.

5. Cashout terms

The minimum cashout amount is $20.00 (2,000 cents). Requested cashouts are deducted from the dollar balance immediately to prevent double-spending and a corresponding row is created in our dollar cashout requests queue with a status of pending.

Supported destinations are bank (ACH), PayPal, Venmo, and Wise. Processing time is typically 5-10 business days from approval. PropContact does not charge a cashout fee. Destination platforms may charge their own fees, which are deducted from the amount paid out to you by that platform.

Cashouts are reviewed in order. Statuses progress from pending to approved to processing to sent. If a cashout is rejected or fails to settle at the destination, the dollar balance is automatically restored and the transaction is recorded.

Cashouts are not chargeable back. Once a payout has cleared at the destination, it cannot be reversed by us. If you believe a payout was sent in error, contact support within 14 days.

6. Anti-abuse

The following are prohibited and will result in forfeiture of earned dollars, refusal of pending cashouts, and possible account termination:

  • Self-referrals (creating a second account to refer yourself, with or without a fresh email).
  • Operating or coordinating multiple accounts solely to generate referral earnings.
  • Misrepresenting PropContact in marketing materials, including false claims about features, pricing, or earnings.
  • Failure to disclose the affiliate relationship where disclosure is required by applicable law (for example FTC endorsement rules in the United States).
  • Spamming forums, comment sections, or messaging platforms with your referral link in a way that violates the rules of those platforms.
  • Driving referrals via paid traffic that bids on PropContact-branded keywords without our prior written consent.

PropContact has sole discretion to determine whether activity is abusive. Where activity is borderline, we will normally contact the referrer before taking action. Where activity is clearly fraudulent, we reserve the right to act immediately.

7. Refunds, chargebacks, and reversals

If a referee successfully refunds or charges back a payment, the corresponding referral earnings are reversed. If the referee's account is closed for abuse, all unpaid earnings tied to that referee are forfeited. Already-paid cashouts are not clawed back unless the relevant referee payments were fraudulent.

8. Modifications

We may modify these terms with 30 days notice posted to this page and emailed to all active referrers. Modifications do not retroactively change the earnings rate or window for referees who already signed up using your code before the modification date.

9. Tax

Referral dollars paid out as cashouts may be reportable income depending on your jurisdiction and your total earnings in a tax year. PropContact may request a completed W-9 (or equivalent for non-U.S. residents) from referrers whose annual cashout total exceeds reporting thresholds. You are solely responsible for any taxes owed on referral earnings.
